Rabbit's Day

Class - Intro to Photography

Spring 2025

This was my final for Intro to Photography. I decided to portray the average life of a college student, but by using the perspective of a stuffed rabbit. The rabbit is a symbol of innocence, and this one specifically means a lot to me as I've had it ever since I was in first grade. So, in a way, it also represents youth. The photos begin as bright and colorful; intentionally portrayed as hope and joy and warmth. The rabbit starts the day by eating breakfast and doing devotionals (As an avid Christian, this is part of my morning routine. He climbs into the car and drives to work/school, represented by my mother's stamping stuff. Once we get to the basement however, the colors are slightly dimmer, portraying the slow sucking of joy life tends to do sometimes. The rabbit gets stressed, and soon he's contemplating what he is truely doing with his life. The series ends at night; the rabbit coming home after a long day. He has dinner and tries to wind down with some video games. But still, those contemplating thoughts still echo in his mind, in the middle of his room, and follow him to bed. This was very helpful in expression my experience with college and the emotional rollercoaster that it can be.
